Half of Chinese urbanites think general consumer prices in the first quarter of 2010 are too high to accept, an all time high since the statistics were recorded in 1999, according to a central bank report. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

About 25.9 percent of questionnaire respondents are content with current consumer prices, down 2.3 percent from that of the previous quarter, said the two-page urbanite household report posted on website of People's Bank of China on Tuesday.

 

And 35.6 percent of urbanites believe the consumer prices will keep on its ascending tracks, while another 44.7 percent think it will remain stagnant and only 8 percent say it will decline.
