Based on the revised report in February, US Treasury Department announced recently that <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />China still keeps the position of top holder of its bonds.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

The report says to the end of last year, China has held 894.8 billion dollars US bonds, larger than Japan’s volume of 765.7 billion, formerly announced the bigger holder by mistake in calculation. Besides, the report reveals China is also the big holder of US securities in the scale of 1.46 trillion dollars, still larger than that of Japan—1.27 trillion.

 

Analyzed in category, the stock is kept by 78.0 billion dollars, and  long term -short term bond present respectively 1.22 trillion dollars and 160.0 billion dollars, including the asset-backed bond by 360.0 billion dollars and the bond of  other types by 866.0 billion dollars in the amount of long term bond.

 

According to the data on April 15, China remained big holder by the end of February with the amount of 877.5 billion dollars US bonds, while Japan with 768.5 billion, ranked the second.
