Decided at the 13th Standing Committee held on 28, Xiamen government is about to issue 50 or more specifications and regulations concerning livelihood of the local people, as to conform to the expansion of economic zone covering the whole city. These regulations are applicable off the island.
It is said numbered economic sectors are included, namely, economic development, municipal administration, education and health, environmental protection, etc, which tend to solve the problem that has cornered the special economic zone for years, as the former regulation made in 1994 applicable only within the island, while the vast area other than the island being constrained from the benefits provided in the former regulations.
